Who here doesn't like trying a new product and giving it a review? Seriously, I could talk products until I'm blue in the face.
Anyways, I recently switched up my cleanser and conditioner and decided to try out Jessicurl's Gentle Lather Shampoo and Too Shea! Extra Moisturizing Conditioner. I purchased both in the Citrus Lavender scent, which was a hit in my household. They also come in Island Fantasy, and unscented. Citrus Lavender was great in use, and didn't leave any intense, lingering scents between washes.
I seriously appreciate what Jessicurl is doing- creating products that are certified gluten-free, cruelty-free and vegan, made with no silicones, sulfates, and alcohols, in 100% post-consumer recycled packaging and comes with fragrance-free options, and made in the USA. That is a huge list! Seriously, there's not a whole lot else you might be looking for when doing your research.
As for my use experience, the shampoo is super low poo, and great for regular cleansing. Of their two cleansing products, I wanted to try this because sometimes I've found moisturizing cleansers to be a bit much for my hair. I really like their "good hair from day one" tagline, and stand by that. You will have clean hair, and avoid that ultra-soft and fuzzy, freshly washed hair feeling, that always takes a few days to tame. That being said, on occasion I would need a strong cleanser, to really get to my scalp and get things moving. Also, the product viscosity is pretty thin, so don't let it catch you by squeezing too much out of the bottle!
Too Shea! is one of two regular-use conditioning products, and is the heaviest conditioner besides their Deep Conditioning Treatment. It's rich, and leaves your hair super soft. It has a great consistency, and I found that I got the best outcome using it as a leave-in conditioner. I think it's cool that their conditioners are formulated to be used as a leave-in if you want, since it gives you flexibility based on your hair's needs. There is a protein addition in the form of oat, which I trust more with their gluten-free certification. The conditioner really helps moisturize for the frizz-prone, but isn't so heavy it will weigh down curls.
Overall, these were two great start products to experiment with Jessicurl. There's definitely a whole lot more I want to try, but I appreciate what they have on the market for a lot of reasons. Having clear information, and fragrance-free options are such a big deal. I feel like very often we are trying to navigate reactions to products, and it takes down a lot of barriers to narrow down what someone may be reactive to.
So have you tried any Jessicurl products? Are you still using them?
